About Mailing Lists at Complete.Org

Mailing lists are a form of discussion groups on the Internet. They work like this:

  1. You "subscribe" to the list. This means that you would like to receive the discussion that others have posted.
  2. Somebody "posts" a message to the list. This message is automatically sent, via e-mail, to all subscribers of the list.
  3. You can then reply, either to the whole list or just to the original poster, or just continue reading other posts without replying.

Web-Based Subscription Management

Thanks to Ecartis on Complete.Org, you can now manipulate your mailing list subscriptions from a convenient Web-based interface. Just follow the links below:

There are some generic instructions that you can use. (These will soon be rewritten into a nicer format). If you're interested in the Air Capital Linux Users Group lists, see the ACLUG mailing lists page.

Mailing list archives

Sometimes, it may not be very convenient for you to receive discussion in e-mail form, or perhaps you want to see what people have said before you joined. For a subset of the complete.org lists, you can find all posts ever sent to the list in the Complete.Org web-based archives. Some lists are not archived in this way. Some are not archived at all, and still others are archived but are not on the web for various reasons.
